Seeds of Life Alliance (SOLA) is a not-for-profit community co-op based out of Winnipeg, MB. We specialize in education and training, teaching students and educators how to design food programs that integrate art, construction, and emotional literacy.

We strive to create positive community impact through the time-honoured tradition of sowing our seeds in the land, and promote trauma-resiliency through brain-based practices that nurture the whole health of the individual.

Mission:

Our mission is to create community resilience through land-based regenerative agricultural and cultural practices. We aim to provide permanent sustainable solutions by training youth and community members to become the next leaders in the field of sustainability.

The How:

We are developing a long-term strategy that builds partnerships with local communities and our greater global networks. This is achieved by basing our vision on three main pillars upon which the Twelve Principles of Permaculture arise from.

The Three Pillars:

1. People Care

2. Earth Care

3. Share in the Surplus

People Care

Our programs are designed to create systems whereby students thrive by participating in the development of deeply interconnected systems that nurture security and stability, as well as a sense of connection and community. It’s through this supportive network, that individuals are inspired to take new risks with their learning, uncovering their hidden talents, and reach their full potential.

Earth Care

All of our programs integrate a deep understanding of sustainable and regenerative land-based practices. We facilitate art, construction, and food growing programs that are interwoven within the 12 Principles of Permaculture related to our role as stewards of the planet.

Share in the Surplus

Everyone takes no more than they need and an extra surplus can be used to create further programming and to develop positive social and economic impact programs.
